Accredited, multi-format, multi-language content provides primary care physicians with practical, interactive micro-learning about weight and diabetes management. Themes:  Free educational activities for those involved in management of people leaving with obesity or diabetes.

Audience: ASCEND is designed for primary care physicians and their equivalents worldwide

Endocrine Society's Endo sessions allow you to search their wide range of eCME for obesity specific content. They have eCME available on topics such as management of obesity, obesity-related complications and the science behind obesity from recent congresses and conferences.

Themes:  Obesity management and science behind obesity. 

Audience: The Endocrine Society is American, however many eCME available on the platform are suitable for physicians outside of the US.

EASO’s KTS has been developed by global experts to provide education on the science and management of obesity. It combines videos, accredited content, publications and tools to support your learning.

Themes: Science behind obesity.

Audience: Country specific eCME programmes have been developed for Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway and the UK. An international programme is available for countries that do not yet have a specific programme.

Medscape has a collection of Obesity and Weight Management eCME’s available on their website. The eCME available is primarily focused on obesity-related complications, such as dyslipidaemia, diabetes and cancer. There is also eCME content available from sessions at recent medical conferences.

Audience: Medscape is focused on US audiences, however many eCME available on their platform are suitable for physicians outside of the US.

Obesity Canada: Online advanced obesity management program

This programme from Obesity Canada is designed for healthcare professionals who are looking to further their understanding of the causes and consequences of obesity.

This programme is also suitable for additional preparation for the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) exam and the Certified Bariatric Educator Program (CBE).

Themes: Obesity management.

Audience: The online advanced obesity management programme is for healthcare professionals looking to take the next step in the learning continuum to better understand the causes, mechanisms and consequences of obesity while providing you with the necessary tools and strategies to approach, assess and support patients with obesity, but also suitable for healthcare professionals around the world looking to increase their understanding of the themes covered in this programme.

ObesityCE is an educational website developed by Vindico Medical Education, containing articles, lectures, videos, and clinical cases relating to the following topic areas: appetite regulation, assessment/screening tools, bariatric surgery, comorbidities, pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy, and/or weight loss tactics.

There is no cost to access ObesityCE content or to obtain CE credits. The website does not include any product advertisements.

Themes: Free educational activities for healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with overweight or obesity.

Audience: ObesityCE is a resource for any physician or healthcare professional in the US or globally managing patients with overweight or obesity.

ObesityWeek OnDemand allows you to catch up on ObesityWeek sessions selected by members of the Annual Scientific Meeting Program Committee. The available sessions which are eligible for CME credit are listed here and they cover a range of topics including obesity treatment advances.

Themes: Clinical and research advances in obesity.

Audience: ObesityWeek is an international congress and covers the latest research from across the globe and is suitable for all healthcare professionals and investigators interested in obesity.

Advanced training in obesity

If you want to take the next step in your practice of obesity management, why not consider taking one of the below certifications in obesity management? The programmes seek to recognise physicians with specialised knowledge in the management of obesity and hope to ensure there are more physicians equipped with the necessary skills to treat obesity effectively.

The American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) serves the public and the field of obesity medicine by maintaining standards for assessment and credentialing physicians. Certification as an ABOM diplomate signifies specialised knowledge in the practice of obesity medicine and distinguishes a physician as having achieved competency in obesity care.

Themes: Obesity management.

Audience: Eligibility requirements include an active medical license in the U.S. or Canada and proof of completion of a residency in the U.S. or Canada.

SCOPE is the only internationally recognised certification in obesity management. The programme aims to develop a consistent approach for managing obesity. SCOPE combines e-learning, live courses, sessions and lectures which allow users to earn SCOPE points which count towards their SCOPE certification.
